Construction Materials Engineering Technician

Are you ready to kickstart or advance your career in construction materials testing? We're looking for skilled and entry-level Construction Materials Testing Technicians to join our team. Whether you're new to the field or a seasoned pro, we offer the chance to work on a diverse range of projects, testing materials like soil, concrete, and asphalt to ensure quality and safety.

As a Construction Materials Testing Technician, you'll be an essential part of our quality assurance process, making sure projects are built to last. You'll primarily work outdoors, witnessing the impact of your efforts as projects come to life. Plus, you'll have opportunities to gain industry certifications, supporting your growth and career advancement.

Your Day-to-Day:



  • Review project plans and specifications to ensure accuracy in testing and inspections
  • Perform hands-on testing on materials such as soil, concrete, and asphalt to verify compliance with standards
  • Document findings using cutting-edge software, like Metafield
  • Calibrate testing equipment to industry standards for consistent results
  • Observe inspections to maintain compliance with regulatory and quality standards
  • Communicate openly with team members and clients, building trust and project success


Compensation and career level will be based on experience and certifications.

About You:



  • You have a high school diploma/GED
  • You have 0-5+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
  • You have effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
  • You have the ability to complete data entry into multiple software applications on a smart device



Physical Requirements: You'll need to be comfortable with:



  • Working outdoors, often in varied weather
  • Walking on rough terrain and standing for long periods (up to 12 hours)
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Safely moving field equipment on uneven ground at active job sites
