Design Process and Optimisation Manager

This position is within the Global Design and Construction team (over 300no. people) who deliver over 70no. construction projects globally per year (in excess of $4B annual capex).

GDC's Global Process and Optimisation team is accountable for the development and roll out of global design focused process and optimization initiatives within our design and construction delivery team. The GPO team is also responsible for monitoring and reporting on the design KPIs and aiding delivery teams.

Job Summary:

Working with our Hyperscale project delivery teams to develop design processes and systems, aimed specifically to support this type of large construction project and the end user clients.

Working with the internal product owners to define how product information is defined for use by external teams, and how this is maintained and continually improved.

Develop expert knowledge of design processes for Hyperscale projects and train project teams in the use of systems and processes to support the most efficient delivery.

Responsibilities:

Builds effective relationships with global stakeholders for:

Planning


  • Inputs into strategic business cases

  • Plans large scale and/or complex programs often leading multiple functional teams (internally and externally) to deliver strategic business cases.


Stakeholder Management

  • Works extensively with internal and external global stakeholders and likely to work with customers to build effective relationships and define effective processes

Communications

  • Has multiple communication responsibilities for: i.e. local, global and external consultant communication and engagement

Risk Management


  • Work with teams to develop and use risk management tools

  • When faced with issues applies lateral thinking and analyses available information to solve complex problems and put into process for other teams to benefit


Project/Program Delivery


  • Responsible for delivery of company wide/regional strategic process development, with other program managers.

  • Responsible for implementing processes and procedures to aid in design and construction project controls and oversight.

  • Responsible for specific engagement in process improvement for Hyperscale projects, with internal & external stakeholders

  • Delivery training for the projects teams on process improvements and changes

  • Work with internal teams to define navigation of and location of resources, aligned to Global design processes within the company.


Resource Management (people, finances etc.)

  • Responsible for external resources where required to deliver complex and large strategic programs and controls

Qualifications


  • 5+ years experience preferred within the Data Centre space

  • Diploma to a Bachelor's Degree preferred in building services, architectural, mechanical or electrical disciplines

  • Managing Successful Programs Foundation certification preferred


The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:


  • San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $111,000 to $185,000 per year

  • California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $104,000 to $172,000 per year

  • Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $94,000 to $156,000 per year


Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
