BH Undergraduate Student Intern (Sept 2025)

Under the direct supervision of a Primary Intern Supervisor and existing leadership within the Behavioral Health Department, the Undergraduate Student Intern provides support and services to clients of the primary care clinic, 16 hours per week for the academic school year from September through May, exact dates depending.

Representative Duties:

• Supports provision of case management services to clients, 11 hours per week:
• Support team of Community Health Workers with resources list consolidation and verification
• Obtain a working knowledge of social determinants of health (SDOH) screeners and be able to administer screeners to patients
• Accompany staff to community locations to support efforts of the team to provide outreach/assessment/referral services to patients
• Assist patients with applications for housing, disability, transportation, etc.
• All hours must be provided on-site at 1340 Boylston St., unless accompanying staff off-site to support members in the community
• Adheres to NASW Code of Ethics

Participate in Intern Programming, 5 hours per week

• Participates in regularly scheduled supervision, 1 hour per week
• Attends and contributes to Intern Group Meeting, 1 hour per week
• Participates in cross-training and job shadowing activities outside of CHW team, 1 hour per week
• Attends Pod-Based Multidisciplinary team meetings, 1 hr per week
• Attends BH department team meetings, 1 hour every other week
• Participates in Fenway Health BH Intern Training Seminars, 1 hour every other week

Performs other related duties as required

• Active enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in related field (e.g. Social Work, Human Services or Psychology) required
• Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to multitask
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working within an ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse team
• Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to document timely and accurately in fast-paced environments
• Case management or human services related experience
• Previous medical clinical experience
• Experience with LGBTQIA+ and/or HIV+ populations

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations:
• Sit at a computer station for extended periods of time
• Ability to keyboard for extended periods of time
