I. JOB OVERVIEW


Job Description Summary:
The Center Clinic is a community mental health center housed within the George Washington University's Professional Psychology Program. This nonprofit clinic is staffed by clinical externs who are advanced doctoral students. The Center Clinic provides mental health services to a variety of populations, including college students, children and adolescents, adults with career and personal concerns, the LGBTQIA+ community, ethnic minorities, and senior citizens.

Reporting to Dr. Oksana Yakushko, Professor of Clinical Psychology and Program Director, the incumbent part-time Staff Psychologist will be responsible for the following and other training initiatives and outreach activities as needed:

Duties:

  • On-site Clinic coverage to include daytime in-person hours and 1-2 evenings per week.
  • Clinical supervision (therapy or assessment) of 5-6 students.
  • Responsible for drafting and distributing weekly Clinic announcements to students and faculty as well as the updated clinic policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for updating the Clinic Manual and Protocols annually.
  • Oversee student's phone interviews, intake, and emergency cell phone rotations.
  • Manage bi-annual clinical evaluation process and oversee Center Clinic billing and payment process.
  • Meet with the clinic's student workers and support the Clinic's supervisors.
  • Respond to emails/student questions about clinical training and clinic policies/procedures.
  • Maintain regular communication with affiliate sites.
  • Respond to record requests.


Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Doctorate degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of relevant experience. Licensed in Washington, D.C. or eligibility for Washington D.C. clinical licensure within six months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist with experience providing psychotherapy and psychological assessments to diverse populations, including students, children, and adults. Prior experience in supervising and mentoring doctoral students in clinical settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage clinic operations, including updating clinic policies, overseeing student evaluations, handling billing, and maintaining communication with clinic staff, students, and affiliate sites are desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including ethnic minorities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and senior citizens, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment within a community-based mental health clinic preferred.


Hiring Range $34.61 - $47.53
