Natural Resources Project Manager

S&ME is looking for an experienced and passionate Environmental Project Manager to join our Natural Resources & Environmental team in Charlotte, NC. Are you ready to use your skills and expertise to lead impactful initiatives and drive environmental excellence? Join us at S&ME!

As an Environmental Project Manager, you will oversee a range of complex environmental and natural resource projects, working collaboratively with a skilled team to achieve sustainable outcomes. This role offers a mix of field and office work in a dynamic, supportive environment where innovation and growth are encouraged.

Your Day-to-Day



  • Project Oversight: Manage natural resource and environmental projects from start to finish, ensuring budgets, schedules, and deliverables meet client expectations.
  • Regulatory Coordination: Liaise with regulatory bodies and assess jurisdictional waters, wetlands, and ecosystems.
  • Permitting and Surveys: Conduct permitting activities, lead ecological and protected species surveys, and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
  • Operational Leadership: Maintain safety, quality, and risk management standards while effectively allocating project resources.
  • Client and Community Engagement: Represent S&ME in professional organizations, foster client relationships, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.



What You Bring



  • A Bachelor's degree in Biological or Environmental Sciences or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5-7+ years of experience in wetland delineations, stream assessments, permitting, ecological surveys, and protected species work, preferably in the southeastern U.S.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage project teams with knowledge of safety, quality, and risk management processes.
  • A working knowledge of GIS software (preferred).
