This job oversees system-wide market planning and analysis. Creates prioritized, profitable growth opportunities and/or sustains unique patients and growth in all major service lines within the hospital and clinic areas and across the continuum of care through the creation, implementation, or expansion of service line initiatives; develops physician relationships; identifies new market niches or segments; and conducts strategic planning, competitive analysis, and employer and physician analysis. Supports the executive, service line, and regional operation teams; works closely with finance, marketing, business development, and analytic teams to support and drive our system growth strategy; and identifies potential strategic partnerships and margin diversification opportunities. Communicates and interprets organizational and departmental mission goals and objectives and provides leadership and direction in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities.

Education

Required -Bachelor's degree in healthcare or business administration.

Preferred -Master's degree.

Work Experience

Required -7 years in related healthcare experience including3 years of supervision or management experience.

Preferred - Experience in healthcare business intelligence, data analytics and strategy.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.

  • Proficient with Windows-style applications, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain a professional attitude and relate to executive management, professionals and business and community leaders.

  • Excellent leadership & team-building skills and ability to inspire others and manage challenging situations.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to collect, distill, and interpret large amounts of data and prepare financial projections, financial modeling, and trend analyses.

  • In-depth knowledge of industry and technical knowledge.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).

Job Duties

  • Compiles and evaluates competitive and evaluative data on facility, region, system and market trends, competitor performance, growth opportunities and benchmarks using internal and external resources.

  • Oversees the preparation of accurate market and financial projections and modeling and develops complex analyses by integrating multiple data elements, best practice research and recommendations to support advancement of organization goals.

  • Distills large amounts of data into targeted models that help our leaders better analyze markets, pinpoint growth opportunities, and make capital investment decisions.

  • Uses operational and financial metrics to identify performance variances; develops growth dashboards to track ongoing system and service line progress toward growth goals; and develops long term-plans, including 1 to 5-year planning horizons.

  • Surveys key internal stakeholders regularly to understand their perspective, seeking to constantly maximize the return to the business, and develops and maintains relationships with marketing, information systems, finance, and business development teams.

  • Partners with service line dyad leaders to understand each service line and actively participates in service line dyad meetings and system service line meetings.

  • Provides leadership to a team of financial professionals and their staff, driving associate engagement initiatives, developing, and managing talent, and leading change efforts.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.

Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform on assist in emergency care or first aid.
There is no occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
