https://fayjones.uark.edu/ Summary of Job Duties:The 9-month non-tenure track, Teaching Assistant Professor will teach Design Studio in the Department of Architecture, and must demonstrate strong design sensibilities, critical thinking skills, collaborative ability and capacity to teach and develop coursework within a five-year Undergraduate Professional Bachelor of Architecture curriculum.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification:

  • Terminal degree in architecture (M.Arch or equivalent)

  • Demonstrated ability to teach and/or coordinate design studio in the Undergraduate Professional BArch Program

  • Has a developing body of creative work, excellent communication skills, active or developing scholarship, and professional/creative practice

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Is able to aid in the implementation and use of advanced digital technologies incrementally across the curriculum

  • Have a post-professional education in architecture or an allied discipline

  • Evidence of successful teaching in studios, lectures and seminars

  • Experience teaching undergraduate courses across the departmental curriculum

  • Worked collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

  • Experience in professional architecture practice or in an allied discipline of practice.

  • Have developed an excellent body of creative design work

  • Professional licensure

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Strong design sensibilities

  • Critical thinking skills

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
