JOB SUMMARY

The Research Specialist provides support in the design and implementation of research strategies for clients, clinical trial programs and studies. The Research Specialist performs administrative and supportive activities to ensure the contracted services and expectations are carried out by the project team in accordance with executed contracts and the customers' expectations. The Research Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the designing, developing, and deploying scientific methodologies, analysis of the collected data, and project management on behalf of Syneos Health Clients. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering services essential to providing insights critical to sponsor company commitments to Patients, HCPs, and Regulators. The Research Specialist role is a dynamic position, that supports internal and client projects, conducting stakeholder assessments, interviews, focus group moderation, vendor and partner management, project development and proposals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with all project team members to keep projects on track and solve project challenges
  • Supports subject matter expert on all Insights & Evidence Generation research and activities
  • As required, leads status meetings with the client team, takes meeting notes, and follows-up on action items
  • Collaborates daily with the clinical and commercial project teams to schedule survey studies, focus groups & interviews
  • Coordinates patient engagement events, vendor meetings and partner management, project development and proposals
  • Oversees and conducts results analysis and presents results to clients
  • Management of study budgets, time reporting, and financial forecasting
  • Serves as data manager for qualitative and quantitative research projects
  • Creates and manages document templates, project and analysis plans
  • Conducts participation recruitment, scheduling, and reimbursement activities (Stakeholders: Patients, HCPs, Caregivers, Patient Advocacy Organizations)
  • Programs and deploys measurement strategies through MS Pro BI or Qualtrics, study site activity and other methodologies as required by study protocols
  • Assists with qualitative and quantitative analysis using software platforms such as NVivo, Atlas TI, SPSS or SAS
  • Provided logistical support for interview and focus group activities
  • Serves as scribe for 1:1 interview, group interviews, and focus groups
  • Manages collaborations with vendor partners
  • Supports the analysis and reporting of project progress and outcomes
  • Supports development of publications reporting study findings
  • Serves as a valued team-member for internal customers and study sponsors
  • Provides support and contributes to the coordination and submission of proposals

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in a life sciences or social sciences discipline (psychology, epidemiology, health services, public health, etc.)
  • 1-5 years of experience in pharma/biotech industry and clinical study research
  • 1-5 years of experience in qualitative research design, conduct, and analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in applying patient insights research, patient-centricity models, patient engagement methods, guidelines and best practice principles and tailoring these to meet the specific needs of clinical trial programs and studies.
  • Must be a collaborator with the ability to work with and through others.
  • Strong ability to manage time and work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, collaboration and partnering skills, both written and spoken, with an ability to inform, influence, convince, and persuade.
  • Strong knowledge of Good Clinical Practice/ICH guidelines, regulatory requirements, drug development process.
  • Ability to work in a global environment and lead virtually.
  • Ability to embrace recent technologies.
  • Experience building professional working relationships at all levels within the organization to achieve cross-functional process related changes.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $56,400 - $69,567. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
