POSITION SUMMARY: Our Hematology and Oncology department and the Center for Regenerative Medicine (CReM) is seeking a curious, thoughtful and motivated laboratory technician to join the lab. Our laboratory is embedded in a thriving scientific community adhering to principles of collegiality, collaboration, and open-source biology. We offer exciting research, a strong focus on mentorship and ample career development opportunities. The Lab: We study the molecular underpinnings of plasma cell disorders such as systemic immunoglobulin amyloidosis in collaboration with the world-renowned Boston University Amyloidosis Center. Specifically, we 1) generate numerous cell types from patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), 2) evaluate cell-type specific responses to stressors known to drive disease progression, and 3) develop novel biomarkers and targeted therapeutics for plasma cell disorders. Responsibilities: The role involves managing day-to-day operations in the lab, performing experiments, and reporting results. Besides gaining organizational, managerial and research experience, you will have a unique opportunity to be involved in all aspects of starting up a lab within an existing state-of-the art infrastructure.
