Under the direction of the Counseling Services (CS) Director of Academic Satellites or designee at Student Health & Counseling Services (SHCS), this position performs professional client/patient care (individual, group, crisis intervention, and case management) assigned by quarterly clinic schedule. The focus of this position is to provide mental health counseling services to School of Veterinary Medicine students (.5 FTE) and School of Medicine students (.5 FTE). Provides campus programs on mental health and wellness education, consultations, multicultural concerns and prevention. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team. Complies with professional requirements of SHCS and UC Davis policies and procedures as well as all State and Federal professional legal requirements. May provide supervision and training to Counseling Services trainees in an APA accredited internship and APPIC-member postdoctoral program. PLEASE NOTE: STUDENT HEALTH & COUNSELING SERVICES IS RECRUITING FOR ONE COUNSELOR, AT THE BEH HEALTH COUNSELOR 4 OR CNSLNG PSYCHOLOGIST 3 HX LEVEL BASED ON LICENSURE (EXPERIENCE). Department Overview Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) provides primary care, mental health, acute care, laboratory, pharmacy, optometry, health education and counseling services to registered UC Davis students. SHCS serves approximately 300 patients per day during the school year. The mission is to provide campus health and wellness resources that enable students to successfully achieve their academic goals and life-long wellness. SHCS has approximately 200 staff including managers, senior professionals, professional and support staff, student employees, interns and post doc residents. SHCS is accredited by AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care), IACS (International Accreditation for Counseling Services), and APA (American Psychological Association).
