Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Assistant Superintendent (Paper Machines) to join our cellulose team located in Brunswick, GA. As the Assistant Superintendent, you will provide crucial support to one of our paper machines, ensuring smooth operations and contributing to the overall success of our facility.

Our Team

The Brunswick Cellulose facility is one of the largest integrated fluff pulp mills in the country with a modern woodyard, fiberline, three paper machines, waste treatment plant, and utilities operations. The Brunswick Cellulose Mill, located in the southeast corner of Georgia is within minutes of downtown Brunswick and about an hour from Jacksonville, FL to the south and Savannah, GA to the north.

What You Will Do
* Provide troubleshooting support to operators and skilled labor, addressing any operational issues promptly and effectively.
* Review alerts from designated centers of excellence and take necessary actions to resolve any identified problems.
* Collaborate with process engineers and other stakeholders to develop new SOPs and improve existing ones, enhancing operational efficiency.
* Work closely with the Learning and Development (L&D) department to ensure training programs align with the needs of the team and facility.
* Support the implementation of short to medium-term strategies, contributing to the overall success and growth of our operations.
* Proactively identifying opportunities in operating strategies and knowledge, implementing measures to drive sustainable improvements.
* Provide support during startups, shutdowns, and upset conditions, ensuring smooth operations, and minimizing downtime.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Experience in troubleshooting complex operational issues and identifying root causes.
* Experience developing and implementing sustainable systems to enhance process stability.
* Knowledge of process optimization techniques and tools.
* Experience with paper machine operations.

What Will Put You Ahead
* Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles and methodologies.
