Position Summary: Manager-Finance and Accounting Training

This position is responsible for directing the coursework training for the UHS CFO Academy program. The role involves evaluating training needs, developing instructional materials, coordinating various levels of training, conducting training sessions, and tracking trainee progress to ensure those in the program are provided the best opportunity to gain the knowledge to excel to a CFO position within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and implement an engaging training program tailored to the needs of the hospitals ensuring that graduates of the program can accurately complete annual budgets and financial month-end close responsibilities. Maintain training materials, manuals, guides and multimedia aids that align with company policies, industry regulations and best practices.
  • Lead the new hire on-boarding process for all employees assigned to the CFO training program at the Nashville Regional Office. Work closely with leaders to ensure training initiatives align with company goals and employee performance objectives.
  • Coordinate and manage the on-the-job coursework training with CFO's, RFD's, VP's which includes training in the field at an identified Behavioral Health facility. Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions on various topics important for the success of the employees in the program.
  • Develop and administer course completion assessments/exams for each Academy trainee. Document and track individual coursework progress ensuring that employees have successfully completed each stage of the program. Track course completion and provide input for performance evaluation.
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify gaps in knowledge or skill and create targeted programs to address these deficiencies. Evaluate and update course material as changes in systems, processes or needs occur.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the CFO training program through surveys, assessments, and feedback, adjusting content to improve learning outcomes.
  • Work with local CFO's and appropriate Human Resources to interview and provide recommendations on filling open positions within the program.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
  • 3-5 Years related experience required, 5-8 years related experience preferred.
  • Experience conducting training needs assessments, curriculum design, and delivering Finance and/or Accounting related content via various modes of training (instructor-led, e-learning, OJT, etc.)
  • Understanding of CFO responsibilities, month-end close, and budgeting processes.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
