Job Summary:
The University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine seeks applicants for a Clinical Instructor position in the WisCARES Community Clinic. WisCARES trains and supervises students to provide veterinary medical care to animals owned by people experiencing economic hardship. The Clinical Instructor will provide direct and referral social services to these socially and economically disadvantaged pet owners and will instruct and supervise veterinary medical and other students. Responsibilities: Responsible for supervision of veterinary medical students' education in regard to communication skills and social work topics including but not limited to self-awareness, cultural humility, social determinants of health, poverty, and homelessness. Supervision of the animal foster program and provision of direct and referral social services to clients who bring their animals to WisCARES for veterinary care. Supervision of the client services aspect of WisCARES, including but not limited to supervision of additional social workers and client services staff. Education: Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a veterinary access to care service-learning setting.
