Job Summary

Are you eager to work with others to find innovative ways to address student achievement challenges and improve student success? Tulsa Community College is seeking several outstanding faculty members! We are hiring multiple full-time faculty to teach courses in Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Human Nutrition. The ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to engaging learners through effective and rigorous instruction utilizing appropriate technology and teaching strategies accommodating diverse learning styles. Candidates with college level, preferably community college, teaching experience are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be willing to teach concurrent enrollment classes and classes at different campuses when needed. This faculty member will also engage in general college responsibilities within and outside the life sciences department.


Essential Duties

Teach a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester, or a minimum of 30 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semesters combined. Teaching assignments may include teaching on one or more of the college's campuses in person, hybrid, online, or some combination thereof based on the needs of the students. Full-time faculty typically have the opportunity to teach overload courses for additional pay.

Support college goal of enhanced retention by consistently encouraging and motivating students towards academic and occupational success.

Design, develop, and/or revise new and existing courses and programs of study. This includes the development of curriculum, syllabi, course outlines, course/curriculum matrices, common textbook and lab manual resources, and course standards.

Create appropriate assessment tools and techniques to demonstrate that student learning outcomes are met.

Meet with classes regularly and promptly, maintain student attendance records, and keep regular office hours.

Work with other faculty and staff as a team member. Participate in college activities beyond the classroom, including recruiting activities, advising/orientation, and membership on standing committees.

Exhibit commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy. Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree or higher with 18 or more graduate hours in Life Sciences from a regionally accredited institution. Teaching philosophy compatible with that of a comprehensive urban community college.


Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Biology or a related field. Community college teaching experience is preferred. Experience working with and creating course content in Blackboard. Experience motivating, interacting, and effectively communicating with students, faculty, administration, industry, and the general public. Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
