Reporting to the SHC Clinic Nurse Supervisor, this RN position provides exceptional clinical care and compassion to the Mizzou students we serve.

Essential Functions

The Student Health Center RN provides quality care to patients and works with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest patient satisfaction. The RN follows all safety, security, and infection control, policies, and procedures. Performs all tasks to ensure the safety of self, patient, and co-workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Compassionate, Patient-Centered Care: Provide vital healthcare services to Mizzou students, including measuring vital signs, administering medications and immunizations, TB testing and preparing students for examinations. Administer allergy injections (immunotherapy), collaborate with Allergy offices, and coordinate delivery or pick up of antigen. Triage patients over the phone and in person and give health care advice. Assist with medication refills, and any other patient needs. Prepare for travel visits with providers for students studying abroad or travel for leisure. Your role is vital in helping students feel safe, supported, and understood during their visits.
  • Collaborate for Comprehensive Care: Work together with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to coordinate care that addresses both physical and mental health needs. By collaborating with counselors at the Counseling Center, you'll contribute to a holistic, student-focused approach that prioritizes well-being in all its forms.
  • Support Our Students Through Excellent Communication: Observing, charting, and reporting on changes in patients' conditions will help ensure the best outcomes for our students. Your ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues will play an important part in maintaining high levels of student satisfaction and trust.
  • Ensure Safe and High-Quality Care: Follow safety protocols, infection control procedures, and department standards to create a safe and healthy environment for both students and staff. Your attention to detail and commitment to best practices will ensure that our services continue to meet the highest healthcare standards.
  • Engage in Professional Development and Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training, meetings, and quality improvement efforts to stay at the forefront of best practices in nursing and healthcare. Your input will help shape the future of the department and contribute to enhancing the overall student health experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from a school of nursing and possession of a current Missouri license as a Registered Nurse or a temporary permit to practice nursing in the state of Missouri is

necessary. Participation in professional nursing organization is desirable.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Range: $32.00 - $43.00 per hour paid on a bi-weekly basis

GGS/PAT Level: PAT RN1

Physical Demands

The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs.
