Network Engineer II

The Enterprise Network Team maintains and operates a corporate network linking SEI and partner locations around the world as well as a production network connecting SEI hosting locations (including multi-cloud) to customers around the world leveraging skills in network design, systems engineering, device configuration, troubleshooting and project management.

What you will do:

  • Work with a hybrid on-/off-shore team of network professionals supplemented by multiple vendors technical support staffs to operate a global network including connectivity to multiple public and private cloud providers, dozens of corporate and partner offices, as well as hundreds of client locations
  • Provide Level 2 support to allow for maximum network availability on a 24/7 basis
  • Identify the need, evaluate, recommend, deploy and use network monitoring and management tools across a global network with over two hundred locations
  • Work with network architects to develop, design and implement network infrastructure changes and lifecycle updates
  • Work in a multi-vendor network environment to ensure secure and reliable operations for all stakeholders.
  • Create and update network documentation
  • Perform and publish root cause analysis when incidents or outages occur to improve system availability
  • Respond to requests clarifying network and security topology and support development and operations teams in delivering robust secure solutions
  • Coordinate projects and troubleshoot issues with development teams and customer network teams
  • Stay current with networking and security best practices, standards and emerging technologies to better serve internal and external customers

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field
  • Expertise in network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS)
  • Strong understanding of network security concepts and best practices
  • Experience with network devices from major vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks)
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desired Skills:

  • Proven experience in network automation using scripting languages (Python, Bash) and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Network certifications (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP)
  • Experience with cloud networking and automation
  • Knowledge of network monitoring and analytics tools
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices
