Lead - Distribution (3rd Shift 10am to 630pm)

JOB SCOPE:

The Lead - Picking Operations role is responsible for allocating resources, directing/redirecting workflow and assisting with day to day activities necessary to meet production goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following (but not limited to):

  • Review, evaluate and monitor staff performance; and recommend appropriate staffing of all order processing work zones.
  • Conduct frequent safety inspections and quality assessments of all order processing work areas.
  • Schedule and coordinate work flow within order processing and in conjunction with the shipping department to expedite outbound production.
  • Determine work progress and reevaluate staffing needs accordingly.
  • Responsible for training new employees and coach existing employees
  • Provide key performance indicator goals and expectations to order processing staff.
  • Review the operation of the order processing department to monitor safety, production, quality, and efficiency to anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide and preserve the security and accuracy of all inventory in order processing.
  • Initiate and complete projects that improve safety, efficiency, and/or reduce operating costs.
  • Direct, maintain, and enforce the safety program for all order processing positions; review safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for entire site.
  • Implement programs and procedures to ensure site cleanliness, including 5S Standards
  • Uses problem solving techniques that result in improvements in performance and productivity
  • With assistance from the Supervisor, informs team of any changes in policies or procedures
  • Motivates others when change occurs to obtain positive results

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Employee must possess basic computer skills.

LANGUAGE and MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Excellent communication skills in written and oral form are required. Must have ability to read and interpret documents including company policies, handbook and operations manuals. Employee will need to have the ability to count and apply mathematical concepts (i.e. calculate figures an amounts when using percentages and fractions) quickly and accurately to practical situations including budget analysis.

Self-directed with excellent organizational and time management skills. Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude. Ability to work well with others. Ability to communicate effectively with SalonCentric and L'Oreal team members and management at all levels. Skill and ability to meet deadlines under stressful conditions. Ability to accept and provide suggestions & constructive feedback. Ability to efficiently lead a team, delegate, supervise and keep subordinates motivated. Ability to operate equipment in a safe manner. Ability to problem solve, delegate, and follow up on tasks assigned to team members.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on a level surface for long periods throughout the day; continuously use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion to grasp type, and pick up items. The employee is required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Executing proper lifting techniques are required. The employee is required to frequently reach and pull with arms and hands above shoulders heights and below the waist. The employee is required to stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to focus, determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned according to related procedures. The employee is subject to normal warehouse atmospheric conditions including dust and temperature. Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures.
