What You Will Do:

Job Summary:

This Quality Engineer role combines responsibilities for both product and process quality, ensuring the highest standards are met throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. The Quality Engineer will collaborate with UP Production management and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing operations through problem-solving, inspection, and validation activities. This role requires a deep understanding of cGMP regulations, validation principles, and a strong commitment to quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control and Assurance:
    • Troubleshoot non-conformance issues and propose solutions.
    • Partner with QA Supervisor to issue rejects on non-conforming components.
  • Validation:
    • Lead the development, execution, and reporting of validation protocols for production equipment adhering to relevant regulations and industry standards.
    • Provide expert technical review and approval of validation and change control documentation.
    • Analyze validation data, interpret results, and prepare comprehensive reports.
    • Offer technical guidance and mentorship on protocol development, execution, and data interpretation.
    • Develop, revise, and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to validation activities.
    • Participate in regulatory agency inspections, ISO audits, and internal audits.
    • Lead and participate in deviation investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA development.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of validation programs.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify equipment and systems requiring validation.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Assist the UP in continuous improvement initiatives utilizing problem-solving tools.
    • Identify and resolve quality-related issues in processes, systems, methods, or procedures.
  • Supplier Quality:
    • Ensure suppliers and manufacturers (internal and external) of packaging components and finished goods meet specified quality standards according to L'Oreal methods.
  • Other:
    • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
    • Actively participate in plant initiatives (MESUR, IO Programs, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical or cosmetics industry.
  • Proven expertise in validation/qualification of equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong project management, leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC).
