Job Title: Product Development Manager Location: Columbia, SC. 29229 ( Remote) Duration: 2 years assignment with possible extension. Shift: M - F 8:30AM-5PM Summary: Manages the research and development of new products. Works with various functional areas (marketing, underwriting, actuarial, claims, information systems, finance) to provide innovative approach to new product lines. Responsibilities: 30% Identifies, researches and analyzes products for-profit and growth potential. Utilizes market research in determining need, competition and financial outcome. 30% Works with various departments for new product implementation, marketing, and producing the product line (marketing, underwriting, actuarial, claims, information systems, finance). 20% Monitors competition for any changes in the marketplace. Analyzes existing and new products for profitability and enhancements. 10% Coordinates with reinsurance placement to ensure that the corporate reinsurance programs are within current rates, or adds additional reinsurance to cover exposures created by new products. 10% Recommends and recruits staff for those areas where the corporation does not have adequate/appropriate staff. Required Education: Bachelor's required Required Work Experience: 5 years product management or marketing; 2 years working with sales agents or related external relationships (may be concurrent with the 5 years).
