Job Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Patient Access, the Supervisor of Patient Access assists the Associate Director with providing operational oversight and strategic direction to areas related to Patient Access The Supervisor of Patient Access will augment patient, family and physician satisfaction, promote ease of access to Emerson Hospital, while ensuring fiscal responsibility, enhance point of service collections, and oversee the regulatory functions for the department. The PA Supervisor will be responsible for development and implementation of all training materials and training for all areas of Patient Access including refresher, insurance classes and all JACHO training. This position will do staff payroll, employee reviews , and work with management in hiring and disciplinary processes. PA Supervisor shares on call for weekends, and holidays with the management team. Responsible for assuring Patient Experience protocol is followed to provides exceptional customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, Finance or related field preferred.

Experience:
Requires 5 years experience in healthcare with hospital based registration, billing and revenue cycle, with 3 years of supervisory experience in a hospital environment.

Licensure and/or Certification:
None Required

Skills:
Medical Terminology
Strong Data Entry skills.
Effective Communication Skills
Knowledge of third party payers
Knowledge of Medicare billing practices and regulations
Excellent Customer Service
Medical Necessity knowledge preferred
Insurance verification experience
Knowledge of insurance billing practices
Computer proficiency
Ability to maintain confidential information
Point of Service Collection experience
Ability to manage and supervise employees
