Job Description Role: This position contributes to the success of Gulf Winds by proactively assisting the MLO with the mortgage loan application process. This position will coordinate with the appropriate vendors, contractors or other 3rd parties to initiate the required services for closing of mortgage loans. This position will also prepare mortgage loan documents for underwriting review, and schedule, compile and prepare mortgage loan closing documents. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Orders required documentation including title, homeowner's insurance and flood certification as well as appraisals; reviews all documents to ensure everything received is accurate and compliant. Reviews approved mortgage loans to determine conditions that must be met prior to closing and assembles documents for delivery to title company, real estate broker, or loan officer for closing. Reviews residential loan application files to verify that application data is complete and meets Credit Union standards including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment; submits mortgage loan application files for underwriting approval. Communicates and coordinates with title company and loan officer for closing. Performs other job related duties as assigned. Performance Measurements:
Knowledge and Skills: Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience. Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. Other Skills: Must have good communication skills. Ten key calculator, typewriter and keyboard skills. Normally expected to work between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. but may be required to work nights and/or weekends. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak English clearly.
