Job Description: The Director of Business Development is responsible for developing and retaining new business from market physicians as well as other community partners for the various Valley Hospital service lines Qualifications Education: Requires Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration, public health administrationor related field from an accredited college or university. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for bachelor degree. Master's degree in Health Administration, Business or Economics strongly recommended. Experience: Five (5) to ten (10) years of progressive business development experience in a hospital-based environment. Administrative and/or clinical experience a plus. Technical Skills: Demonstrated track record of ability to create multi-year strategic planning and proforma documentation for new/existing service lines. Expertise in managed care and government reimbursement environment. Adept in abstract analysis and interpreting financial pro formas, and utilization information relative to hospital services, to evaluate reasonable opportunities for growth. Comprehensive knowledge of physician relations and demonstrated ability to work with/lead clinical teams to achieve growth objectives. Proven revenue generation skills, computer software applications knowledge, and familiarity with industry analytic database tools. Preferred experience with ambulatory care development including surgery centers, freestanding EDs, urgent care clinics, homecare, pharmacy, lab and imaging. Prior management of clinical and/or administrative staff preferred.
