Director of Information Technology Job Level: Director Job Location: Onsite (Toledo, OH) Travel Expectations: 0% Job Classification: Full-Time We are currently seeking a Director of Information Technology for our client in the Toledo, OH area. The IT Director will oversee the strategic development and management of business applications and enterprise software, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational efficiency. This role will collaborate across departments to identify technology needs, implement solutions, and drive continuous improvements. Responsibilities include integrating business applications for seamless data sharing, maintaining a single source of data truth for reporting and KPIs, and leading efforts in application strategy, integration, data governance, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and performance to support growth and excellence. In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute IT strategies to align with company goals, focusing on enhancing application performance, user experience and scalability.
- Lead project governance to ensure project priorities are aligned upon across department leads and budget requirements are satisfied.
- Collaborate with department leaders to understand their technology needs and deliver application solutions.
- Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of enterprise applications, ERP systems, and other critical business software platforms.
- Ensure seamless integration between systems and optimize data flow across platforms.
- Maintain and enhance platforms that support reporting and dashboard capabilities.
- Maintain single source or data truth that is timely, accurate and trusted.
- Lead application-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new software rollouts.
- Establish best practices for software usage, data governance, and system security within applications.
- Grow a skilled and flexible IT team through hiring, training, and partnerships with vendors to meet business demands.
- Partner with the IT Manager to ensure infrastructure, hardware, and network security support application performance and reliability.
- Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and service agreements.
- Analyze system performance metrics, recommend improvements, and oversee troubleshooting of application issues.
- Develop and monitor budgets related to application software and IT initiatives.
- Stay current on emerging technology trends and recommend innovative solutions to improve business processes.
- Manage, mentor, and lead a team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Assign tasks, set goals, and monitor performance to ensure team members meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to help team members grow and succeed in their roles.
- Other duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in IT leadership roles, with a strong emphasis on application management, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong expertise in system integrations and application portfolio architecture.
- Proven experience in managing multiple software development projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Fundamental working knowledge of systems such as Windows 10 and 11 Professional, Windows Servers, IBM O/S release 7+, and Cisco AnyConnect.
- Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office Professional applications.
- Experience with Certify, SQL Server+, Planful, TopDesk, LogMeIn Rescue, Clear2CRM, Microsoft Azure, PowerBI, and Infor ERP preferred.
- Must pass criminal background check and drug screening as required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
