BUSINESS OVERVIEW

The External Investing Group ("XIG") provides investors with investment and advisory solutions, across leading hedge fund managers, private equity funds, real estate managers, public equity strategies and fixed income strategies. XIG manages globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios, and a range of advisory services. Our investors access opportunities through new fund commitments, fund-of-fund investments, strategic partnerships, secondary-market investments, co-investments, and seed-capital investments. With over 350 professionals across 11 offices around the world, XIG provides manager diligence, portfolio construction, risk management, and liquidity solutions to investors, drawing on Goldman Sachs' market insights and risk management expertise. We extend these global capabilities to the world's leading sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, governments, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, and family offices, for which we invest or advise on over $300 billion of alternative investments, public equity strategies and fixed income strategies.

The team are looking for a junior associate who will:



  • Perform quantitative and qualitative portfolio analysis to support portfolio and risk management for private market fund of funds and custom client portfolios
  • Conduct portfolio modeling to drive portfolio construction and leverage strategy; enhance portfolio management by analyzing proprietary data and proactively contribute to other portfolio analysis
  • Present portfolio analysis and data-driven recommendations in the Portfolio Strategy and Risk Management meeting through written and oral presentations
  • Monitor the performance and risk profile of existing portfolios
  • Support portfolio and risk management strategic initiatives and projects
  • Work closely with deal team, fund financing and sales teams on portfolio construction and modeling of fund strategy



Qualifications



  • 2-3 years in Asset Management, Investment Banking, Consulting, or a related field with a robust interest in portfolio construction and risk management
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills for the purpose of developing data-driven portfolio decisions
  • Strong presentation, communication, and writing skills enabling the candidate to make robust recommendations to the portfolio strategy and risk management meeting
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with financial modeling and valuation
  • Display a solid work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and a proven ability to collaborate with colleagues of various levels of seniority in a team-oriented environment


Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$170000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
