Job Summary

The Mgr-Insurance & Claims role will manage risk management and insurance operations, including designing and implementing risk financing and loss mitigation initiatives. Initiate claims investigations and/or routine monitoring of property and liability loss exposures across the Institute and recommend
best practices on a campus-wide basis to address the varied and complex risk concerns inherent to the operations and support the oversight of the fiscal assets. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.

This position will interact consistently with all campus departments, financial managers, and leadership

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - Functions as primary point of contact for Institute insurance claims and related administrative requirements and provide oversight and resolution assistance for 3rd party insurance claims.
Job Duty 2 - Collaborate with Leadership to maintain an insurance program appropriate for the Institute's scope of operations.
Job Duty 3 - Provide direction to campus cost centers administrative and financial officers to ensure the Institute is pursuing claims initiatives and loss control efforts.
Job Duty 4 - Support the Institute's insurance renewal process by coordinating cost centers exposure data and ensures accuracy of data and information.
Job Duty 5 - Prepare and submit annual insurance renewal data to the designated department and other external sources for insurance coverage consideration.
Job Duty 6 - Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Six or more years of job-related experience - with three or more years supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Certifications, Licenses or Permits:
Licensed Adjuster - State of Georgia

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field

Proposed Salary

Annual Salary - $72,378.00 - $90,000.00

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES
The job requires occasional travel up to 10% or more of the time

SKILLS
o This job requires a working knowledge of insurance, risk management and loss control techniques
o Skills in supervision, office organization and use of business and specialized computer applications
are also required
