The Clinical Education Coordinator is a medical assistant or equivalent who collaborates with the health care team to ensure safe, effective, evidence-based, and quality patient care in the ambulatory/clinic setting. The Clinical Education Coordinator is responsible for designing and implementing education programs and professional development of ambulatory staff - focused on clinical outcomes, best practices, workflow optimizations, and staff/practice development. The Clinical Education Coordinator reports to the Manager of Education and Compliance and will work closely with the Quality Department, Regional Directors, Practice Leadership, and/or designee on the educational needs assessment and orientation programs for staff. The Clinical Education Coordinator ensures that all competencies and skills are current and relevant for the clinic staff while acting as a change agent, leader, and role model to have all clinical staff work at the top of their licenses/certifications. The Clinical Education Coordinator will aim to reduce fragmentation through best practice education and skill competencies to ensure that all ambulatory services are of the highest quality and implemented throughout the CU Community Practice clinics. Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates onboarding of new employees including socializing and integrating an employee into the organization with a focus on retention and growth.
- Develops and implements individualized orientation plans to guide new employees to job competencies or existing employees to changing roles/responsibilities.
- Organizes new employee orientation by hosting training, scheduling preceptors and times, overseeing intermittent follow-up, and providing oversight of orientation and competency of clinic staff.
- Ensures that processes are in place for documentation of orientation and other educational activities; ensures employee files meet CU Community Practice and all regulatory requirements.
- Acts as a subject matter expert for Medical Assistants, Patient Care Technicians, and Front Desk Staff.
- Develops, coordinates, evaluates, and documents expected outcomes and objectives to support the dynamic competency assessment, learning, and change process.

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 4 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in biological science, nutrition, nursing, health, human services, psychology, counseling, social work, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- 3 years of clinical or medical assisting experience (MA/PCT).
- Completion of accredited CMA program and pass the National Medical Assistant Certification Exam (i.e. AAMA or NCCT) or completion of equivalent.
- Current healthcare provider-level BLS CPR certification.
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Condition of Employment:
- Must be able to travel to alternate locations as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical office experience in area of specialty.
- Epic Ambulatory experience.
- Bilingual, Spanish-speaking
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have strong presentation skills to showcase credibility and effectiveness.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
- Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations according to protocols.
- Maintains professional appearance and conduct at all times.
- Effectively copes with a fast-paced environment and typical job stressors.
- Computer Skills: MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word.
- Strong organizational and personal skills.
- Strong medical terminology knowledge and skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $66,537 to $84,635. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
