Summary: The Body Shop Manager is responsible for supervising all body shop service and employees regarding performance, safety, and productivity. Continue to grow the body shop business and to meet the forecasted profit for the department each month. Duties and Responsibilities: * To approve all expenses for the body shop department * To supervise the body shop service department and mechanics * Review all repair orders prior to closing them * Work on warranty issues, accounting schedules, and receivables * Track accounts for frequency of business * Meet with insurance companies and major fleets to discuss repair and pricing issues * Track the daily productivity of the department * Meet with customers onsite to create estimates and to explain their insurance procedures * Examine damaged vehicles and estimate repair costs using software system. * Work with insurance companies to manage claims for our customers. * Work with technicians, foreman, and warranty reps to file warranty claims. * Monitor quality and shop issues * Create new business thru customer visits * Fill in for foreman in the event of an absence * Direct link between body shop and dealership management Minimum Qualifications: * Be skilled in the following areas: o Ability to promote professionalism and pride within the work force o Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities on short notice o Ability to carry out Company policies and understand proper protocol o Communicate and listen effectively o Ability to maintain clear and accurate records * Must know and understand how to create an accurate body shop wreck estimate. * Must be organized, excellent time management skills, professional manner in all facets of customer service. * Creating and maintaining of department budget * Ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers. * Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple quotes simultaneously. * Must have prior management, body shop, or outside sales experience. * Must have strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
