The Director, Corporate Strategic Planning is a critical role that serves as custodian of the organization's strategic direction - orchestrating the development of long-term goals and aligned performance drivers in collaboration with executive leaders and their teams. In addition, the Director partners with the Transformation Office to ensure an effective end to end corporate planning process from strategy to execution. SKILLS

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the strategic planning process and ensure its successful execution to produce the organization's strategic plan on an annual basis.
  • Create templates and resources to enable business leaders in the development of strategic assets. Coach division partners on strategy development.
  • Coordinate senior leadership and Board strategic planning retreats to meet identified event objectives. This includes preparing materials for C-suite and Board use.
  • Collaborate with Data & Analytics to promote long-term goal development and reporting in partnership with senior leaders.
  • Engage with the Business Architecture team to inform decision-making for strategic roadmap development.
  • Effectively engage key strategic accelerators (Venture, Digital Innovation) in the strategic planning process.
  • Partner with the Transformation Office to support the development of the Operating Plan.
  • Lead the enterprise Planning Council with the Transformation Office, maintaining the end-to-end corporate planning process and applying continuous improvement practices.
  • Monitor for external environmental or other shifts impacting long-term goal assumptions and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with business partners to develop and track implementation of corrective action plans to address long-term goal performance gaps, if needed.
  • Promote organizational strategic engagement and understanding through the development and execution of an internal communications strategy, working with Communication and Employee Engagement teams.
  • Develop effective relationships at all company levels, including senior and executive management.
  • Be a thought partner and provide direct assistance to the Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer for ad hoc projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Requires 10+ years of related experience that includes a minimum of 5+ years of people management experience

  • 6+ years of management level experience with increasing levels of responsibility in corporate planning and/or related areas such as strategic consulting, strategic portfolio management, or financial planning.

  • Healthcare industry experience is preferred but not required; experience working within a healthcare plan is a plus.
  • Experience leading the strategic planning process, enabling c-level executives and their teams to develop a compelling strategic plan for the organization.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply standard strategy frameworks (e.g., SWOT, competitive forces, core competency analysis).
  • Strong proficiency in business writing and communication, with experience developing templates, materials, and video/multi-media content.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to balance multiple programs and team dynamics simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail, with experience preparing materials for C-Suite and Board audiences.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships across the organization with a consistent record of collaborating at all levels.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.

Work-at-home requirements

  • Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30x5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload) is required.
  • Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms
  • Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. GEHA considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

The annual base salary range for this position is $149,500 - $210,740 USD.
