Lead Cashier
HOURS: 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
4 hrs/day
ENROLLMENT: 387
LOCATION: Crestview Elementary School
WAGE INFORMATION: $21.75/hour
ANTICIPATED START DATE: As soon as possible
POSITION SUMMARY:
Position is responsible for ensuring accountability of all money, record keeping and program compliance requirements. Lead Cashiers oversee the work of all cashiers within the assigned school. Provide support in the preparation and service of food as assigned
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Record payments accurately into student accounts. Establish and maintain new accounts as necessary. Maintain operational records so that they comply with department, district, and governmental regulations and guidelines.
- Ensure total carry on cash for the school is verified regularly and each register has the appropriate amount of carry on cash.
- Ensure all Federal and State government regulations are adhered to, including the reimbursable meal requirements so that the school will comply with all audits.
- Ensure confidentiality of account information, PINs and eligibility status.
- Complete the Day End process, including the daily deposit, accurately each day.
- Maintain accurate records of meal charges and print low balance reports as needed.
- Accurately record other program counts as required.
- Comply with the departments and individual building's Angel Account procedures.
- Maintain computer and POS equipment to insure continuous service and complete basic maintenance regularly.
- Adhere to the District's HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) plan.
- Assist co-workers in keeping the work surfaces, equipment in serving area and utensils clean and sanitary.
- Perform cashier duties based on defined procedures.
- Support and promote the meal programs offered at the site.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
Required:
- High School degree or equivalent education.
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
- Attend and pass Fundamentals I and II and Sanitation and Safety course with-in one year of employment.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of accounting and money management. Excellent math skills.
- Positive teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to perform routine computer functions, including email, Internet navigation and Microsoft Word.
- Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
- Ability to pass Nutrition Services fitness for duty tests.
- Ability to provide quality customer service to students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
- An appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.

1. Experience in a food service environment.
2. Knowledge of food production, serving and clean-up skills.
