HR Business Partner - Talent Acquisition

As a Talent Acquisition specialist at Highwoods, your days involve a dynamic blend of sourcing top talent, collaborating with hiring managers and managing the full recruitment lifecycle. You'll engage with hiring managers to fine-tune hiring plans and provide valuable insights on market trends. Throughout the day, you'll review resumes, identify high-potential candidates, and connect with them through personalized outreach. You'll work creatively to source diverse talent, using social media, networking, and referrals, while also maintaining a strong focus on building relationships with candidates and keeping them engaged. Your role extends beyond just recruitment-you'll partner with HR to innovate internship programs, enhance the employer brand and ensure every candidate has a positive experience, helping shape a thriving, diverse workforce for the future.

Key Responsibilities



  • Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and create tailored recruitment strategies.
  • Source candidates using a variety of methods, including job boards, social media, networking, and employee referrals.
  • Conduct initial screenings to evaluate candidates' qualifications and fit for the organization.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from posting job ads to extending offers.
  • Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs.
  • Provide guidance to hiring managers on market trends, salary benchmarks, and interview best practices.
  • Champion the employer brand and enhance the candidate experience through thoughtful engagement and communication.
  • Develop a keen understanding of the requirements for each role in the company
  • Update job descriptions and create interview questions that reflect the requirements for each position
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and ensure clear candidate/interviewer expectations for open positions
  • Determine selection criteria for candidates by liaising with managers and other members of staff
  • Partner with the HR Specialist to lead the company's internship and apprenticeship programs
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts throughout the organization


Qualifications:



  • Enthusiastic team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive personal presence
  • Strong communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to effectively manage several recruiting projects simultaneously while working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting, using various interview techniques and evaluation methods
  • Knowledge of employment laws and best practices related to recruitment
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter).


Education/Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in talent acquisition or recruiting, preferably in a corporate environment
  • Certification in talent acquisition or HR preferred (e.g., SHRM-CP, AIRS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with employer branding and recruitment marketing strategies helpful


Physical Demand / Work Environment:

This on-site position operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, and video conferencing. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work is of a general office nature; while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and see; required to use arms and hands to reach and handle; typing on computer keyboard and using phone required. Ability to read, understand, and to communicate information and ideas clearly in writing and orally is required. May occasionally need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch; and lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
