Description

Currently seeking candidates that are looking for a part time position, located at UH St. John Medical Center. Candidates will be serving meal trays to patients. Must have good customer service skills, be a team player and have polite and friendly communication. This position will also include assembling or delivering trays and cleanup of the kitchen after dinner service. The position is primarily evening with shift times of 4:00pm or 4:30pm-9:00pm. Scheduling flexibility preferred. The position will also work every other weekend and holiday, primarily 4:00pm or 4:30pm-close.

A Brief Overview

This position performs daily food service duties to meet customer and patient feeding deadlines, ensuring prompt, accurate, and polite service aligned with department and University Hospitals standards. Prioritizes the maintenance of a neat, clean, and sanitary work area, employing proper food safety procedures and efficiently using department equipment.

What You Will Do



  • Performs daily food service related duties necessary to meet customer/patient feeding deadlines.
  • Maintains a neat, clean and sanitary work area appropriate for food and service ware handling including mopping, sweeping and dishwashing.
  • Uses department equipment in a safe, efficient and confident manner.
  • Follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures including proper food safety procedures.
  • Stays current with training requirements and safety in-services.
  • Serves internal and external customer needs promptly, accurately and politely utilizing department and University Hospitals service standards.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
