Access Navigation Supervisor Full Time Mahwah
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Access Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of all functions and serves as the liaison between the department and our preferred, affiliated and other facilities. The Patient Access Supervisor integrates the department's scheduling services with the hospital's primary functions, develops/implements policies and procedures that guide or support service, assesses and improves department performance, and ensures orientation and continuing education of departmental staff. The Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of functions within the Navigation Center relating to scheduling, quality control, training, patient satisfaction and customer service. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to scheduling, registration, pre-registration, call KPIs and productivity. The Supervisor provides direct support to the Director in all areas to ensure optimum performance by departmental personnel, scheduling and registration accuracy and optimal customer satisfaction.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience within hospital/healthcare business operations with at least three (3) years in a significant healthcare management/leadership position.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Customer service, scheduling, registration, financial counseling, financial clearance and insurance verification/authorization process within a hospital setting. Ability to continuously assess& patient volumes in each area to prioritize the delegation of work and stabilize unforeseen fluctuations in work flows. To serve as a resource to other departments regarding Access Center goals and functions, scheduling, registration, patient advocates, financial clearance and/or insurance verification related issues. Will provide and maintain effective communication with medical staff, community, patients, internal and external associates. Necessary to have strong computer and communication skills. Must be able to effectively analyze data and provide recommendations, effectively communicate change, updates and feedback. Employee must navigate the healthcare system in effort to obtain necessary information. Employee demonstrates self motivation, initiative and attention to detail.
