Job Summary

Operating under the supervision of the assigned manager coordinates daily activities that facilitate the implementation of the County's preventive maintenance program. The responsibilities of this position include executing safety inspections for buildings, vehicles, equipment, and tools; overseeing customer service functions; maintaining staff schedules; ensuring the completion of routine and corrective maintenance both inside and outside; managing daily cash receipts; and coordinating tasks assigned to contractors. The Maintenance Crew Chief oversees the assigned personnel, including staff, volunteers, and seasonal workers, and supervises commercial contract workers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Carries out maintenance activities, performs repairs, and addresses work orders. * Conducts maintenance and repair activities for vehicles, equipment, and tools. * Maintains outdoor areas and prepares tournament fields. * Keeps detailed documentation and reports regarding maintenance activities. * Additional critical job responsibilities may be carried out as required by the specific role and departmental assignment.

Minimum Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent; preferably with coursework in building trades or grounds maintenance depending on assigned area; four (4) years of related work experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, building trades, depending on assigned area inclusive of one (1) year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo pre-employment criminal, credit, and DMV background checks. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required, with driving records subject to annual review to ensure ongoing eligibility. Employees must obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within 30 days of their hiring date. Additionally, OSHA certifications for forklift, bucket truck, and lift truck operations must be completed within the designated timeframes set by the department. County supervisory, and e-learning training as required.
Preferred Qualifications: * CDL (Class A) with passenger, airbrake, and/or tanker endorsements preferred. * Hold or obtain a Commercial Pesticide Applicator's/Fertilizer Applicator License preferred.
