Associate Chaplain, Spiritual Care Per Diem Day
POSITION SUMMARY:
To demonstrate professional competency in assessing and responding to the spiritual needs of patients in a variety of age groups, their families, employees, and physicians, particularly in times of spiritual distress.
EDUCATION:
One unit of CPE and general knowledge of various faith traditions. Theological education preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Active in one's own tradition and hospital ministry preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Excellent communication and interactive skills to work with persons of all faith traditions without promoting one's own faith beliefs. Works closely and effectively as a team member with physicians, hospital, medical staff, patients, and their families, volunteers, and the general public. Ability to prioritize patient and family needs, carry out duties and responsibilities of the position under pressure, and cope with stressful situations which may arise in the performance of those duties.
