Responsibilities
- A high responsibility is required in the performance of general diagnostic x-ray.
- Performs a variety of general diagnostic x-ray. As well as the limited scope of practice guidelines.
- Responsible for radiation safety as related to patient, staff, and self.
- Performs related radiology computer and clerical duties.
- Assumes individual responsibility for portions of the departmental quality assurance program.
- Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide radiology care appropriate to adult, and geriatric patients.
- Documents radiology care consistent with documentation guidelines.
- Participates in department operations demonstrating professional behaviors to include supporting goals of the Radiology Department and maintaining awareness of resource utilization.
- Participation in non-direct patient care activities including educational activities, quality assurance activities, department meetings, and other related activities.
Qualifications
Education: High School graduate or equivalent Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology Associate or Bachelor degree in Radiologic Technology Experience: Previous experience as a RT(R) is desired. License(s)/Certification(s): State of Iowa Permit to Operate Radiation machines Accredited national certification Limited Accredited National Registered Technologist, Radiology LMRT (R). Certification in Registered Technologist Radiology RT (R) within 9 months of hire. Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills. Organizational and time management skills Basic computer skills.
