Job Description Rockwell Automation is looking for a Project Engineer to join their team and work from the Milwaukee, WI headquarters. You will work cross functionally with multiple business units and plant locations. You will report to the Team Lead of Product Quality.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide design input and fit for use to product development teams.
- Help develop and implement New Product Introduction (NPI) quality planning to build quality into the design.
- Verify that customer requirements are embedded into product/solution design.
- Develop product quality plan and strategy, by following templates and guidelines. Includes inspection criteria, process validation and test, data collection and reporting strategy.
- Apply quality design methodologies, tools and techniques (e.g. Design for Six Sigma, Design for Reliability, Failure Mode Effect Analysis) incrementally and throughout product development.
- Participate in feedback assessment and corrective action activities (closed loop).
- Support and participate in predictive modeling and lead Reliability assessments on life cycle conditions of the sub-system, PCA component, product, and system.
- Read and interpret technical product documentation with understanding of product usage within customer application and environment.
- Lead Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and ensure corrective and preventive action planning, addresses true and systemic cause and eliminate repeats.
- Lead issue to resolution cycles and lead field action (includes turnaround time, cause, follow-up, share lessons learned).
- Define and monitor corrective and preventive action (closed loop).
- Analytical and problem-solving competency to improve performance results.
- Monitor dashboards and Measurements, and data validation.
- Identify opportunities to automate QA/QC processes using technology and data capabilities.
- Use dashboards and metrics to lead ongoing continuous improvement.
- Pursue tasks, and develops/implements actions.
- Work well in a matrix organization and accept shared accountability.
- Communicate with partners across Rockwell Automation on product/service performance and issue resolution.
- Balances priorities and communicates well to team, partners and management.
- Maintain accountability for high-quality performance throughout product lifecycle.
- Communicate quality readouts to appropriate leadership.
- Manage varying priorities and collaborate across multiple disciplines, internal and external customers.
- Participate and support main employee projects including the employee engagement survey, culture of inclusion programs and ethics.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar technical degree.
- Ability to travel 5% of the time.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- 8+ years in quality, manufacturing or field service engineering
- 3+ years experience as an electrical or mechanical engineer
- Problem-solving skills to increase performance results
- Experience in continuous improvement and QA tools and methodologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Primarily Excel and PowerPoint, Power BI)
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning system SAP
- Certification in LEAN, Six SIGMA tools and methodologies (i.e., Green Belt / Black Belt), CQE, AQE
- Experience with the environment inclusive of products and infrastructure that must work together to achieve the desired customer outcome
- Project Management or Project Management Professional certification
- Master of Science or MBA
