Job Summary

This position is responsible for all advanced purchasing activities, primarily Direct materials categories, but also certain Indirect spend categories, while ensuring compliance with overall James Avery objectives, strategies, and procedures by collaborating closely with the cross functional stakeholders. Evaluates sources of supply and develops optimal pricing methodology, warranty, and product/service performance requirements. Determines and utilizes the most strategic supply chain model to acquire the necessary products and services at the maximum level of total cost of ownership savings. Identifies new sources of supply, and potentially acceptable new products/technologies.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

*Provide timely and professional services to cross-functional teams requiring external supplier goods & services. Lead or participate on teams to ensure appropriate stakeholders are aware of procurement initiatives as needed. Initiate and/or lead required analysis and make recommendations in support of competitive bids, or engineering changes. Liaise with the cross-functional teams to assure spend is in line with agreed sourcing strategy. Is familiar with the various suppliers and product lines available in responsible areas.

*Develop & lead the development of sourcing strategies and ensure execution to action plans. Lead and manage all steps in the sourcing process (Request for Quotes RFQ, change management, contract negotiations, dispute resolutions etc.). Initiate and support cost modeling & related activities (value engineering, value analysis and Kaizen activities.) Work with Sourcing Specialists to evaluate potential suppliers.

*Lead and/or participate in negotiation sessions with suppliers. Prepare, implement and audit compliance with appropriate contracts. Resolve issues regarding supplier delivery, quality, service and documents resolution.

*Monitor, report and seek to continuously improve supplier performance. Function as a primary point of contact for supplier interactions and lead supplier performance assessments. Maintain a working knowledge of supplier's organization, product lines, contractual agreements, and transportation terms. Compile information to be incorporated in Supplier's Scorecard. Assist Procurement Manager in analyzing departmental spend with suppliers and recommend consolidation or redirection to preferred suppliers.

*Conduct data analysis on suppliers, supply market, cost and price of goods and services using available data. Track and maintain accurate and timely records in Oracle and other business intelligence systems related to procurement metrics and performance objectives.

*Manage procure to pay process in Oracle for assigned SKUs. Expedite critical and strategic deliveries and report status as required.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

*Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.

*6 years of experience in procurement.

*Experience in managing negotiation, supplier performance management and project management.

*Ability to travel to various work locations as business need requires.

Preferred Qualifications

*Master's Degree.

*American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification in Certified in Planning and Inventory (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).

*Experience working in Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) and business intelligence software.
