TICKETING & CREDENTIALS INTERN
Reports To: Ryan Beech, Director, Ticketing & Credentials & Matt Kill, Manager, Ticketing & Credentials
Dates/Hours: March - April: 20-30 hours/week
May - June 14: 30-40 hours/week (overtime only if needed during Tournament)
Housing: Applicants are responsible for their own housing
Compensation: $12.50/hour
About the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday:
The Memorial Tournament presented by Workday is held annually at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus. The Tournament, founded and hosted by Jack Nicklaus, is conducted each year with three goals in mind: to honor the memory of individuals living and deceased who have distinguished themselves in the game of golf; to showcase the world's best golfers competing on one of the most challenging venues in the world for the enjoyment of spectators; and to benefit many Greater Columbus Charities in alliance with the Nicklaus Children's Healthcare Foundation, Nationwide Children's Hospital, Eat. Learn. Play Foundation.
Position Overview:
The Ticket Office Intern supports the ticketing team leading up to and through the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday. The Ticket Office Intern will assist patrons with purchasing Tournament tickets, fulfillment of orders, providing top-notch customer service, post-event reconciliation, and other duties as assigned.
Goals for Ticket Office Intern:
* Gain deeper knowledge of the ticketing process for the Memorial Tournament and the opportunity to be involved in planning for additional PGA Tournament events hosted by HNS Sports Group
* Develop interpersonal and customer service skills
* Learn how to provide on-site support for large-scale events
* Grow in a team-oriented, professional environment
* Build a network of associates by partnering with other Tournament interns
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Assist with daily operations within the Ticket Office
* Assist customers over the phone and via email by helping place orders and answering customer inquiries
* Make outbound calls to patrons who have not yet purchased their tickets
* Learn and utilize the Ticketmaster system to view, edit, and troubleshoot customer ticket orders
* Assist in reconciliation/inventory of leftover ticket related materials
* Support the Sales and Marketing teams in partnership with the Sales and Marketing interns as needed
* Provide on-site support for the Ticket Office during Tournament week
Qualifications:
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Demonstrated organizational proficiency
* Deep understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel
* Team-oriented and positive attitude
* Ability to work night and weekend hours as needed leading into and during Tournament week
* Ability to lift 25 pounds preferred
