Additional Compensation Details:

  • $25-$32 per hour Dependent on Experience and Location of Role

Responsibilities

The Role

The Floral Buyer Support Specialist aids the Floral Category buying team by assisting with inventory management, purchasing activities, and vendor coordination. The role requires analyzing sales data, maintaining product databases, inspecting product quality, and ensuring that inventory levels meet customer demands. Additionally, you will engage in vendor communication, maintain detailed vendor and product records, and handle purchase orders and freight documents. You will also be responsible for resolving purchasing issues, participating in vendor meetings, and contributing to smooth supply chain operations. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to the success of this role, ensuring seamless workflow, customer satisfaction, and overall team success.

The right candidate will be able to work well together in a team setting, but be also be able to work independantly and be self driven. This is a corporate role and the person who fills it should be comfortable working with teams nationally and not exclusive to the Seattle market. Essential Responsibilities Include, but Not Limited To

  • Assist the buying team in placing orders with selected suppliers.
  • Analyze sales and inventory data to inform decisions on product quantities and varieties required to meet customer demand.
  • Assist with maintaining optimal inventory levels and communicating potential inventory issues.
  • Update, communicate, and maintain product information in relevant databases, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Conduct regular inspections of floral products in warehouse facilities to monitor quality and compliance with standards.
  • Complete purchase orders, freight manifests, item transfers, and review receiving accuracy in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Help process vendor chargeback requests in coordination with the Senior Buyer.
  • Participate in vendor meetings and assist in preparing reports or updates as needed.


Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Customer Service Representative at Charlie's Produce or relevant experience in a related role.
  • Understanding of floral terminology and trade standards.
  • Basic understanding of Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effectively conveying information to team members and vendors.
  • Outstanding organizational skills - capable of handling many tasks at once while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule with minimal overtime when needed- this could include early mornings, weekends, and additional hours when needed.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Floral industry experience in wholesale or grocery retail.
  • Familiarity with the Bossanova system for order processing.
  • Resourceful in finding solutions to vendor or purchasing challenges.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, especially those related to the floral industry and supply chain operations.
  • Ability and willingness to embrace new technologies, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Proactively seek feedback to improve personal performance and contribute to overall team efficiency.
