World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Regional Sales Director to lead and grow our Northeast SLED (State, Local, and Education) business. In this pivotal role, you will drive the overall strategy and execution for our SLED sales team, focusing on expanding market share and deepening relationships across the region. You will provide strategic leadership to a high-performing team, empowering them to represent WWTs core capabilities, including Infrastructure Modernization, Multi-Cloud Architecture, Security Transformation, and Digital Strategy. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact while advancing our mission of delivering innovative technology solutions to public sector organizations. Responsibilities:
- Leading a team of Client Managers/Executives (based in the Northeast), who are responsible for positioning WWT's core capabilities (Infrastructure Modernization, Multi-Cloud Architecture, Security Transformation and Digital Strategy) to the mission of government and education
- Detailed understanding of the key vertical markets of government and education
- Deep knowledge of critical government and education contracts essential for executing business relationships
- Collaborates with field teams in the development of business strategies for targeted markets, including solution and partner focuses
- Provide clear direction, situational coaching and mentoring client managers and other team stakeholders for high performance and success with short and long-term objectives
- Effectively and regularly communicates to senior management how you execute an annual plan including growth strategies that align to measurable goals and objectives and tracks progress accordingly with monthly forecasts, quarterly business reviews, and weekly activities
- Steward of good business and fiscal management to maximize results while actively managing costs and impactful investments
- Leverage the WWT Platform and our Advance Technology Center as a cornerstone to your market growth strategy
- Recruit, develop and retain top talent using WWT Core Values and the Public Sector Sales mission and vision
- Collaborate with other key functional stakeholders including Sales, Services, Legal and Contracts, Business Development, Sales Operations, Technical Architects and Consulting Systems Engineering to construct high performing teams focused on customer delight
- Collaborate with business development for program pursuit and capture in key markets and verticals
- Build and promote the WWT SLED brand and differentiation by effectively teaming with key OEM's and external partners to jointly focus on customer business outcomes
- Help team solve conflicting priorities and make timely, effective decisions
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills and drive results within the team
- Oversee the pre-sales process and help drive effective communication between sales and engineering.
- Ideate with team members on complex and creative deal structure.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent industry experience
- 10+ years of sales and management experience within the Northeast SLED market
- Proven experience in working and succeeding within a quota and commission structure.
- Previous involvement with state and local Government budgets and procurement cycles; Strong understanding of the SLED contracting process
- Candidate is based ideally in either New York, Connecticut, or New Jersey
- Experience managing and coaching a team of Account Managers/Executives with a proven track record working with leadership and driving business strategies within the SLED sector is highly preferred.
- Deep knowledge and experience in New York City Government business is desirable
- Excellent leadership, mentorship, and communication skills.
- Solid relationships with leading industry OEMs including, but not limited to, Cisco, DELL, AWS, Palo Alto, NetApp and others.
- Regional travel required
Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $190,000. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary. The well-being of WWT employees is essential.
