MISO is hiring an IT Application Support Analyst II. This person will play a vital role in supporting the critical applications that drive the Day Ahead and Real-Time Market Systems. You'll collaborate with IT and Control Room Operations to ensure seamless functionality and efficiency, working closely with the Market Application Support team to develop innovative processes and solutions that enhance the performance and reliability of our applications. You'll also contribute to impactful initiatives, projects, and system enhancements that are essential to our mission.

As an IT Application Support Analyst II at MISO, you will:



  • Perform in-depth and comprehensive troubleshooting and take independent action to correct problems encountered
  • Collaborate with IT and Business Area groups to define, test and validate application enhancements and requirements
  • Test, debug, document and install modified and new programs to meet business and compliance requirements
  • Review and analyze reporting data, audit results to identify patterns, trends or issues that require resolution or enhancement
  • Prioritize and manage backlog work to address and resolve outstanding issues


To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or 6-8 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, identifying problems, gathering and analyzing data, establishing key facts, and developing effective solutions
  • Technical skills include:

    • SQL and/or Oracle
    • Python or some scripting language
    • Windows and/or Unix
    • Kubernetes (preferred),


  • Ability to work a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule


Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience, knowledge, and skills.
