Responsibilities

INTAKE LEAD- BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

The Intake Lead generates new patient intakes and ensures potential patients complete their initial intake appointments with a clinician. Evaluates the mental healthcare needs of clients and determines eligibility for services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responds to intake calls and completes admission paperwork. Assessments will be completed by RN, LPC or LMSW.
  • Conducts interviews individually or in families to assess their situation and determine types of services required.
  • Tracks all inquiries and resolves issues as it pertains to the intake process.
  • Collects data to help with the referral process. Follows up on referrals by contacting referral sources to collect data.
  • Communicates with referral sources including, family members, legal system, psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and other treatment facilities
  • Reviews newly admitted patient accounts for eligibility and authorization daily.
  • Maintains schedule for filing court paperwork and hearings. Works closely with court personnel to maintain good relationships.
  • Participates as an active member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ensures that all Intake forms are properly completed and filed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-5 years of related work experience required.
  • Proficient in software applications.
  • Ability to read and comprehend moderate to complex instructions.
  • Ability to write detailed correspondence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present in one-on-one and small group settings to patients and their families, facility leadership, employees' clients, providers, vendors, etc.
  • Ability to listen, empathize and off constructive guidance.
