Sr Dir-SOM Finance Lubbock 39850BR Position Description Manages and directs the day to day operations of a research center/institute or medium sized department. Plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of the center/institute/department. Develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities. Major/Essential Functions Manages the SOM finance team, which is responsible for reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, and state reporting. Responsible for preparing annual and monthly reports for all campuses. Manages contractual payments from partner hospitals. Monitors SOM budgets throughout the year and prepares annual budgets. Presents financial reports at various meetings. Serves on various committees. Provides accounting oversight and reporting for the Dean's Office funds. Oversees financial analysis of physician service agreements with contracted partners, including hospital partners. Oversees uncompensated care reporting and submission. Has strong communication skills. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred; Six years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education beyond Bachelor's may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
