Nursing Manager Opportunity

Gulf Coast Treatment Center is an intensive inpatient psychiatric program for adolescent females, ages 12-18 old. Since 1996, we have been dedicated to providing quality mental health treatment to adolescent females with chronic mental health needs nationwide. Gulf Coast Treatment Center provides comprehensive mental healthcare and education services for at risk female adolescents, families and our community.

We are currently seeking a Nursing Manager for our Fort Walton Beach, FL location. The ideal candidate will be available for vary shift as well as availability to cover days/night shifts. The Nurse Manager is the primary care coordinator for the interdisciplinary team. Accountable for the implementation of a collaborative care plan as proscribed by the physician(s) and treatment team. Provides leadership in maintaining standards for professional Nursing practice in the clinical setting. Provides medical management and assessment of patients. Ensures environmental safety. Works with the treatment team to provide a consistently therapeutic milieu. Some additional tasks are to include the following:

  • Conduct or review the complete nursing assessment of all admissions including risk assessments (SAO, elopement, assault, suicide), educational needs, and medication review. Complete all required nursing documents within established time frame.
  • Actively participate in treatment team decisions, collect and include data in care plan updates, assess patient needs, design and implement programs, and document / evaluate patient responses.
  • Document nursing care and treatment progression through timely and accurate chart entries and nursing care protocols.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and the milieu.
  • Provides oversight of seclusions and/or restraints. Conducts one hour face to face observations.
  • Ensure that medication and treatment are administered as prescribed and that documentation reflects the care provided.
  • Manages the process of obtaining physician orders and completion of required documents.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Mental Health Technicians, Model age, growth, and developmentally appropriate therapeutic communication to all interactions.
  • Conduct rounds. Actively assist therapists, keeping safety foremost.

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor Degree in Nursing from an accredited curriculum.

Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida.
