Qualifications

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides milieu support for staff and residents as needed and is a first response coordinator in times of crisis to assist with therapeutic intervention.

  • Conducts incident report and SR paperwork reviews, reviews camera footage of SR and HWC interventions, and completes staff debriefing of SRs.
  • Understands FTE management and overtime management, maintains familiarity with financial information, and effectively manages departmental operations within financial guidelines.

  • Facilitates training for staff related to group facilitation and documentation of groups as needed or requested by Directors/Managers.
  • Recommends to the treatment team effective alternatives or modification to treatment plans based on the patient progress and response to treatment plan.

  • Ensures therapeutic recreation, expressive therapy groups, FIT groups and clinical programming is being facilitated.

  • Maintains a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for clients.

  • Oversees the floor staff. Monitors attendance, documentation, and assigned duties.

  • Coordinates with the Clinical Manager on daily programming schedules.
  • Implements counseling statements and corrective actions.

  • Provides facility assistance (i.e. Consults, assessments, field trips, floor coverage, group coverage, etc.)

  • Supports departmental goals by attending and participating in department meetings and offering ideas and suggestions regarding goals and objectives.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

High School Graduate or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years in an inpatient/outpatient psychiatric/mental health setting with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques, demonstrated understanding of mental illness and related behavioral management techniques required.

Minimum of two years of supervision required.

Experience in the development of therapeutic programs targeted for special population preferred. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements may be considered.
