Academic Breast Surgeon - UMass Memorial Health

Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery

UMass Memorial Health, the clinical partner of UMass Chan Medical School, seeks a fellowship-trained BE/BC Breast Surgeon to join our renowned Breast Cancer Center.

We welcome skilled and compassionate Breast Surgeons at all academic ranks to apply and join our dynamic, growing team. At UMass Memorial Health, we are committed to creating an environment of excellence and collaboration, working together in our unwavering pursuit of healing.

Ideal candidates will have a passion for teaching our medical students and General Surgery residents (8 categorical residents per year), who have rotations at both Milford and at the Medical Center. The Department of Surgery includes ~60 full time faculty in 9 different divisions and additional residencies in Plastic Surgery and Vascular Surgery.

About the Opportunity:

  • Academic appointment at the Assistant Professor level.
  • Clinical practice at Milford Regional Medical Center and UMass Memorial Medical Center.
  • The Bob M. Quinlan, MD Breast Center at the Medical Center houses the NAPBC-accredited, multidisciplinary program located in a beautifully appointed space in the Cancer Center at UMass. The program includes all medical and nursing specialties involved in the modern, innovative care of breast patients, further supported by the newest operative technologies to support our surgical services.
  • Over 500 new breast cancer patients annually across the system, a collegial working atmosphere, three practicing breast surgeons, one full-time breast nurse practitioner, a high-risk program, and collaborative relationships with the scientists at UMass Chan including those in the Division of Breast Cancer Research in the Department of Molecular, Cell and Cancer Biology.
  • Milford Regional's Hill Health Center, services include surgical care, a high-risk clinic, mammography, and additional breast imaging. The 54,000 square foot Cancer Center collaborates with Dana-Farber Cancer Center for patients receiving care from Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Breast Surgical Oncology or Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship.
  • Commitment to academic and clinical excellence.
  • Obtain a Massachusetts medical license.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to represent UMass Memorial Health within the community.
