About the role:

The strategic planning analyst works on the analysis of NYSTEC's opportunity areas, which affect growth, development, financials, and organizational alignment. The role involves using industry data to define variables that can enhance or detract from business operations, conducting research and analyzing issues to provide clarity and facilitate decision making, and supporting strategic plans and marketing initiatives as directed by the director of strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Support the director of strategy in coordinating annual strategic and business planning activities.

* Prepare agendas and support the planning and execution of content for monthly leadership team chats and annual employee meetings, creating clarity around organizational health, environmental factors, strategic direction, and leadership decisions.

* Lend thought leadership and conduct planning and execution to support external events (e.g., NYSTEC's annual Population Health Innovation Summit [PHIS]).

* Understand the vision and goals for the event(s), source content topics and participants, conduct participant outreach, vetting, and preparation, and implement quality control standards.

* Evaluate meeting effectiveness regularly, plan for meetings for the fiscal year, and coordinate with subject matter experts on content.

* Create systems and processes to support the tracking and sharing of action items, risks, issues, and decisions to support the organization and provide transparency into initiatives.

* Monitor and follow up on action items from meetings and track status updates.

* Support the adoption of organizational change management best practices.

* Conduct research or contribute to special projects relative to strategic business issues (e.g., internal strengths and weaknesses, environmental opportunities and threats, competitors, clients).

* Support the creation of responsibilities, processes, and system solutions to improve collaboration and the sharing of research across the business.

* Collaborate with the marketing communications department to develop materials and streamline the communication of changes within the organization.

* Demonstrate the NYSTEC behaviors.

* Other duties as assigned.

About You:

Required Qualifications

*Knowledge and Application: Develops professional expertise and applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Determines a course of action based on guidelines and modifies processes and methods, as required.

*Complexity and Problem Solving: Work on problems of moderate scope, which are often varied and routine, where the analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Apply learned techniques and contribute to analysis and investigation to solve problems. Requires minimal instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments.

* Collaboration and Interaction: Build productive internal and external working relationships to resolve mutual issues by collaborating on procedures or transactions. Focus on providing standard professional advice and creating initial reports and analyses for review by experienced team professionals.

* Able to research, compile, and summarize varied data and information, evaluate alternatives, and reach sound conclusions.

* Prepare clear and accurate reports, correspondence, procedures, and other written materials.

* Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products.

* Understands NYSTEC's mission, brand mindsets, and core values and can put the behaviors into practice.

Education and Experience

*A bachelor's degree and four years of experience in business analysis or financial management. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

The pay range for this position is $69,385.00 to $95,405.20 per year.
