Job Summary Join our Menomonee Falls, WI team as a Mechanical Engineer II working on mission critical components for Navy ships and submarines. Design, fabricate, and modify mechanical and electro-mechanical components and systems in support of the US Navy and our allies. Pretty awesome, right? What You Will Do Evaluate and recommend design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products or services and investigate solutions to product or process problems Responsible for technical activity and completion of assigned task on time and budget Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems Report of progress and status regularly Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments Develop prototypes to retire key development risks Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of experience preferably in a manufacturing environment Knowledge of power electronics, power distribution, circuit board design, and/or semi-conductors is much preferred Motivated and engaged; comfortable in a team environment but also okay with working independently sometimes Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment Leonardo DRS, Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates are equal opportunity employers and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. #NPS
