We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer specializing in Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a crucial role in the development, deployment, and support of document processing applications and their integration with existing platforms. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in document automation development and can adapt quickly to evolving technologies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain IDP solutions for the company using engineering best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IDP with other systems
  • Troubleshoot and support integrated IDP solutions within NM
  • Write and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
  • Train and mentor junior team members
  • Maintain up to date knowledge and provide guidance for the company in intelligent document processing using latest technology

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 4-6+ years professional experience required
  • Strong experience with Instabase or another similar IDP platform
  • Strong programming skills in Python and Java
  • Solid understanding of AI (artificial intelligence) principles and practices
  • 3 - 6+ years of experience working with modern engineering tools, languages and practices
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, ownership mindset and continuous learning
  • Experience developing solutions using agile methods
  • Mentor for the team and department
  • Advanced skillset in one or more technical platforms
  • Capable of communicating between product, engineering, and the business
  • Ability to perform peer reviews on code and design
  • Solid understanding of design patterns and architecture
  • Strong experience with intelligent document workflow integration and management
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Experience with AWS cloud platforms and enterprise systems preferred
  • Vendor management & system administration experience preferred

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$100,030.00

Pay Range - End:

$185,770.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
