Location: Hershey, PA Job location: On-site / Hybrid Reports to: Sr. Manager, Global Payroll & Benefits Summary of Role: This position manages the tier 2 Benefits Administration team within the Hershey Business Platforms (HBP) Human Resources function and is responsible for the implementation, execution and administration of U.S. and Canada health and welfare programs, Leaves, Open Enrollment process, establishing and maintaining business partnerships with external health and welfare vendors and leading HR/benefits system projects such as: system upgrade, new vendors/systems, M&A, among others. The Mgr Benefit Administration will partner with the Total Rewards Benefit Center of Excellence area and the Director, HR Services to understand and implement health and welfare programs. Role Responsibilities: Leaves, Health, Welfare and Retirement Administration
- Partner with Total Rewards Benefits for understanding of leaves, health, welfare and retirement programs offered.
- Administer employee benefit programs such as leaves, medical, dental, vision plans; life insurance plans including billing and invoice process; retirement plans such as 401(k), pension, and Canadian Registered Retirement Savings plan and wellness programs
- Responsible for regulatory compliance associated with ERISA, IRS Section 125, PPACA, HIPAA, SOX and other governing regulations and regulatory reporting, including annual non-discrimination testing and annual IRS Form 5500.
- Lead Open Enrollment process for U.S. and Canada
- Lead HBP team in preparation, testing, reporting and preparation of documentation and training materials for deployment
HR/Benefits system projects
- Lead the HBP HRSD group for the design, test & support in partnership with IS in annual process such as Open enrollment, and special projects such M&A, integrations and/or system upgrades
Vendor Management
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining vendor relationships with various external vendors
- Review vendor service-level agreements (SLAs) and results and hold accountable vendors on service delivery
- As appropriate, partner with Total Rewards on vendor management matters
- When appropriate, escalate service delivery concerns to leadership
Team Management
- Lead the day-to-day activities of the Benefits team by providing strong leadership, coaching and mentoring.
- Establish and track productivity and performance standards for the team to ensure established service levels are met, especially during high volume seasons throughout the year.
- Ensure employee benefit inquiries are answered within established service level agreement (SLA) timeframe.
- Because these teams of customer service responders will be a primary contact point for all Hershey Company clients to obtain service from the HR department, this Lead will, in collaboration with HRSD Leadership be responsible for designing and implementing appropriate training, learning, and cross-training opportunities for staff.
- Partners with other HR Services managers to ensure that tier 1 and tier 2 response teams are fully informed, trained, up to speed on technology changes, event and program information.

- Knowledge and experience with SAP, SuccessFactors Employee Central, ServiceNow, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- A customer focused service delivery specialist with global orientation.
- Works cooperatively as a member of a team and is committed to the overall team objectives rather than own interests.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills dealing with a diverse group of individuals at all levels within the Company.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality with respect to employee records and system data.
- Able to manage complex administrative processes concurrently over multiple time frames, strong project management and prioritization skills.
Requirements:
- Education -
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources management, Business Administration; Advanced degree or equivalent experience and knowledge is preferred.
- CBP or CEBS designation a plus.
- Experience -
- A minimum of 6-9 years of professional level experience in U.S. Benefits is required.
- Prior experience with Canadian Benefits strongly desired.
- Must have demonstrated experience in process development with successful execution.
- Must have demonstrated experience in successful project management.
- Must have demonstrated experience with managing successful vendor relationships
